HC Deb 23 March 1970 vol 798 c291W
Mr. Leslie Huckfield

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will propose to the International Civil Aviation Organisation that it should require the fitting of rearward facing seats in civil airliners.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

No. Previous approaches to the International Civil Aviation Organisation failed to attract support from other Member States, and, in the absence of new evidence and argument, there seems no reason to believe any further proposal would meet with greater success. The Board of Trade will, however, continue to keep this matter under review.
