§ Mr. CarmichaelThe Department authorised the original Beagle Company to proceed with the construction of the new assembly shop at Shoreham Airport in 1967; Beagle Aircraft (1968) Ltd. was not incorporated until July, 1968. Beagle's lease at Shoreham does not expire until August, 1970. Negotiations on a long-term lease were linked to plans for the provision of a hard runway and were deferred pending the outcome of the runway planning application. The liquidator is currently in negotiation with the landlords and prospective purchasers regarding the future use of the premises, and it would not be helpful to comment further.
