Mr. James Davidson

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if, in view of the fact that farmers in the Afikpo area of Nigeria are deterred from cultivating their land because of the danger from mines laid during the recent civil war, he will offer the Nigerian Government the loan of British Army units trained in mine detection and destruction.
