§ Mr. Lomasasked the Minister of Transport what the Inland Waterways Amenity Advisory Council has done since its formation in 1968.
§ Mr. MurrayI understand that the council has been meeting regularly and that members have visited a number of waterways. The greater part of the council's time has been devoted to the study of suggestions for additions to the British Waterways Board's cruising waterways. It has also had under consideration a variety of matters affecting the amenity or recreational use of the board's cruising and commercial waterways.
§ Mr. Lomasasked the Minister of Transport what action has been taken, of which his Department has been informed, on any recommendations made by the Advisory Council to the British Waterways Association.
§ Mr. MurrayI understand that the council has passed a number of recommendations to the British Waterways Board for the restoration of certain remainder waterways with a view to their possible inclusion in the cruising network. At the board's request, the council is now in the process of producing for the board's consideration a list of priorities and detailed reports in support of its recommendations.
