HC Deb 19 March 1970 vol 798 c191W
Mr. Rankin

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland to what extent the Salmon Report has been implemented in Scotland, particularly in regard to standards in the management of hospital nursing.

Mr. Ross

The nurse staffing in six hospital groups has been restructured in accordance with the management standards recommended in the Salmon Report; a seventh scheme becomes operative on 1st April, 1970; and several more schemes are in an advanced state of preparation. Courses in management training for nurses are being run under the aegis of the Scottish Nursing Staffs Committee.
