§ Mr. GreenwoodI estimate that grants for the financial year 1969–70 paid in England under the Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act 1953 will amount to £550,000. Contribution to, English local authorities for the repair and upkeep of historic buildings under the Local Authorities (Historic Buildings) Act, 1962 during the financial year 1968–69 amounted to £200,205. More recent figures for expenditure under the latter Act, or figures for other expenditure by English local authorities on historic buildings in their ownership, are not available. Expenditure on historic buildings in Scotland and Wales and on historic buildings in the care of the Ministry of Public Building and Works is a matter for my right hon. Friends the Secretaries of State for Scotland and Wales and the Minister of Public Building and Works respectively
