HC Deb 17 March 1970 vol 798 cc83-4W
46. Sir W. Bromley-Davenport

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that the clearances from bond of imported high strength wines in 1969 were 8.7 per cent. down on 1968, and that clearances from Portugal were down 11.7 per cent.; and whether he will undertake to make a detailed examination of these reductions before deciding upon his Budget policy with regard to customs duties on wines.

Mr. Taverne

The actual figures which are not quite as stated in the Question, will be taken into account together with all other factors relevant to the wine duties.
