§ Mr. William RodgersFigures of average weekly expenditure on domestic rates are not available on a basis comparable with average weekly wages. For households co-operating in the Family Expenditure Survey, average weekly earnings in 1965 from wages, salaries and self-employment were £20 2s. per household and average weekly expenditure on domestic rates 12s., or 3.1 per cent. of average earnings. The corresponding figures for the year ended June, 1969, the latest period for which information is available, were £25 6s., 15s. and 3.0 per cent. respectively.
