HC Deb 17 March 1970 vol 798 cc105-6W
Mr. Prior

asked the Prime Minister whether he will co-ordinate the work of the Secretary of State for Social Services and the Minister of Housing and Local Government to ensure that the housing subsidies and the social service rent allowances are such as to permit old people on low incomes to occupy houses built specially for them under group schemes.

The Prime Minister

As my hon. Friend the Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Security explained in his reply to the hon. Member yesterday, my right hon. Friends are currently discussing these matters with the local authority associations. I hope that it will soon be possible to reach agreement on the problems involved.—[Vol 798, c. 25–6.]
