HC Deb 17 March 1970 vol 798 cc80-1W
40. Mr. Pardoe

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received from representatives of the legal profession about the administrative burden of the returns to be made to the Inland Revenue by solicitors of interest received on behalf of clients which, as a result of the Finance Act 1969, will be received gross instead of after deduction of tax; and what plans he has for lessening this burden.

Mr. Diamond

None, except a letter which the hon. Member himself forwarded last November. I understand that satisfactory arrangements have been made between the firm concerned and the Inspector of Taxes.
