HC Deb 17 March 1970 vol 798 cc118-9W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what acreage of agricultural land in Scotland has been taken since 1960 for roads, housing, industrial development, recreation, mineral workings, water undertakings, power generation, Service Departments, forestry, and for any other reason, respectively, and in total.

Mr. Ross

The information for the period June 1960 to June 1969 (the latest date for which figures are available) is as follows:—

afforded by the 1965 Housing and Rent Acts; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

The evidence at present available to me does not suggest that special action is needed, but I am keeping the position under review. If my hon.

Friend has any special cases in mind, I shall be happy to consider them.
