Mr. Alec Jones

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what in 1969 in Wales was the total value of the domestic element of the rate support grants; and how many people are receiving this benefit.

Mr. Greenwood

The total of the domestic element of the rate support grants payable to rating authorities in Wales for 1969–70 is estimated to be £2,818,968 out of total rate support gram to Welsh authorities amounting to £115,711,171. The domestic element secures reductions in the rate poundages
