§ Mrs. Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects the first report of the Departmental Committee set up to consider Scottish criminal procedure; and what plans he has to increase the number of practising solicitors with experience of criminal law practice serving on the committee.
§ Mr. RossThe Committee has just started reviewing the field; it is too early to say how or when they will report. The Lord Advocate and I have no proposals for altering the membership of the Committee, which has a good balance of persons well qualified to contribute to the remit.
