HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc54-5W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he expects the first report of the Departmental Committee set up to consider Scottish criminal procedure; and what plans he has to increase the number of practising solicitors with experience of criminal law practice serving on the committee.

Mr. Ross

The Committee has just started reviewing the field; it is too early to say how or when they will report. The Lord Advocate and I have no proposals for altering the membership of the Committee, which has a good balance of persons well qualified to contribute to the remit.
