HC Deb 16 March 1970 vol 798 cc74-5W
Mr. David Howell

asked the Minister of Transport (1) whether he will give details of the analysis upon which his estimate of £6 million as being the additional cost of the outer Guildford bypass considered by his Department is based, including additional slip-road costs and additional improvements to the existing road scheme;

(2) whether he will make available the traffic census figures upon which his public proposals for the new route of the A3 Burpham-Ladymead diversion are based;

(3) whether he will give an estimate of the total cost of improvements to the A3 either side of the proposed new A3 Burpham-Ladymead diversion which will arise as a consequence of his proposed scheme.

Mr. Bob Brown

Details of the estimated costs of an outer by-pass and traffic census figures relating to the proposed new route will be made available before the public inquiry planned for May. No improvements are proposed at present to the adjoining sections of the A3.
