asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will name the ships listed for scrapping this year in Command Paper No. 4290.

The names of the ships approved for disposal by scrapping during 1969–70 are as follows:

2 Destroyers

H.M. Ships Dainty, Defender.

3 Frigates

H.M. Ships Murray, Troubridge, Wakeful.

4 "A" Class Submarines

H.M. Ships Astute, Ambush, Alaric, Alcide.

2 "T" Class Submarines

H.M. Ships Tiptoe, Taciturn.

11 Coastal Minesweepers

H.M. Ships Repton, Boulston, Fiskerton, Burnaston, Chilcompton, Coniston, Letterston, Dartington, Buttington, Appleton and 1 other (not yet decided).

1 Submarine Support Ship

H.M.S. Medway.
