asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what are his plans for the future of Jordanhill College School.

Mr. Ross

I have just received the views of the college governors in response to my invitation to them to review the future of the school. The governors have decided to discontinue charging fees and are arranging that the intake of pupils for the operation of the scheme, and to what value.

Mr. Ross

The available information is as follows:

session 1970–71 shall not involve selection by ability or aptitude. For the longer term, they have not expressed any view as to whether the school should continue. I am now considering their reply.
