HC Deb 13 March 1970 vol 797 c405W
Mr. Emery

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the proportions in numbers and in value of main contracts let by all Government Departments in development areas in the years 1966–67, 1967–68 and 1968–69, expressed as a percentage of all Government contracts.

Mr. William Rodgers

In terms of value, the proportions, excluding construction contracts in both cases, were approximately 12.5 per cent., 11.7 per cent. and 11 per cent. respectively. Information on numbers could only be given at the cost of disproportionate time and effort.
