§ Mr. Rhodesasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity whether Her Majesty's Government accepts Recommendation No. 593 on the situation of young workers which was adopted by the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe on 26th January, 1970; and whether they will agree to the requests contained in paragraph 5 of this recommendation.
§ Mr. DellThe Council of Europe Minister's Deputies have not yet considered this recommendation. I can, however, say that it is generally acceptable to Her Majesty's Government. The Government are not able to ratify some of the Conventions referred to in paragraph 5 of the recommendation, because they contain details not appropriate to United Kingdom conditions.
