asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable on the current recruiting position for police forces in Dorset and Bournemouth.

On 31st January, the strength of the force was 896. I hope that the forthcoming improvements in pay and reduction in hours will encourage recruiting and discourage wastage.
