Mr. Peter M. Jackson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what has been the acreage of sites special scientific interest under the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act, 1949, for which grants under the Agriculture (Ploughing Grants) Act, 1952, and grants under the farm improve- ment scheme and under the hill land improvement scheme, 1967, have been paid in the last two years; and what has been the total value of these grants.

Grants totalling £1,927 were paid for work on 138 acres, all the work being carried out with the prior agreement, and subject to the requirements of the Nature Conservancy.
