Mr. Crowder

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will arrange for the public inquiry on the proposals for the development of Luton Airport, due to start on 12th March, to be postponed until after a decision has been reached about the site for the third London Airport.

Mr. Greenwood

No. The inquiry on 12th March is into certain limited development proposals.

Mr. Crowder

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will forbid any expansion or development of Luton Airport until after a definite decision has been reached about the site for the third London airport.

Mr. Greenwood

No. I am sure that Luton Corporation which owns and operates the airport, will have regard to the implications of the third London airport when considering further development: and any development proposals which it may wish to put to me will need to be considered on their merits.
