HC Deb 11 March 1970 vol 797 cc343-4W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate he has made of the number of qualified doctors who have emigrated in each of the last five years.

Mr. Crossman

The estimated net loss by migration from Great Britain of British and Irish born doctors was an annual average of 250 for the years 1962–63 and 1963–64; 500 for 1964–65; and, on the latest calculations, 350 for each of the years 1965–66 and 1966–67. Figures are not yet available for later years.
