HC Deb 11 March 1970 vol 797 c349W
Dr. Winstanley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the average age of the members of the Decimal Currency Board; what are the ages of the youngest and the oldest members of the board, respectively; and what provision exists for the removal of members of the board on grounds of age or incapacity.

Mr. William Rodgers

The average age is 59; the youngest is 49 and the oldest 65. The Decimal Currency Act, 1967, provides for removal if a member is incapacitated by physical or mental illness.
