HC Deb 10 March 1970 vol 797 cc295-6W
Sir Frank Pearson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity to what extent she estimates that the level of unemployment in the North-West is attributable to stagnation in the construction industry.

Mr. Dell

On 12th February, 1970, 15,688 workers whose last job was in the construction industry were registered as unemployed in the North-West Region. This represented 19.7 per cent. of all those registered as unemployed in the region.
