HC Deb 09 March 1970 vol 797 c231W
86. Mr. Rose

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he proposes to take concerning the representative of the Embassy of the United Arab Republic implicated in an attempt to sabotage an El Al Boeing 707 at Heathrow Airport, which resulted in the conviction of Mr. Trefor Williams.

88. Mr. Snow

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he is aware that an Arab Embassy in London facilitated visits to the Middle East for the purpose of briefing and receiving sabotage explosives and mechanisms from an Arab terrorist organisation, implicated in the case of Regina versus Trefor Owen Williams, charged with plotting to blow up an Israeli airliner at Heathrow; and whether he will declare the officials of the Embassy concerned personae non gratae.

Mr. Luard

I understand that Mr. Williams intends to appeal against both conviction and sentence. I should prefer therefore not to comment on any aspect of this case at present.
