Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what steps her Department is taking to encourage employer-sponsored courses at Government training centres; and what response has been forthcoming from employers in the Northern Region.
§ Mr. DellWidespread publicity has been given in industrial circles to the facilities for sponsored-employee training in G.T.C.s. In the last 15 months 44 employers in the Northern Region have nominated 192 employees for sponsored training. 99 of these have completed their courses, 76 are in training and 17 are awaiting entry.
