Mr. Stratton Mills

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will arrange with the Inland Revenue that when appeals have been lodged the inspector of taxes will notify the collector of taxes so that reminders of the original assessment are not sent to the taxpayer.

This should always be done under existing instructions to inspectors of taxes. If the hon. Member has in mind any particular case in which it has not been done, I would be glad to receive details of it.
