HC Deb 09 March 1970 vol 797 cc245-6W
95. Mr. Lomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will take steps to compel chemists and phar- macists to show on all bottles whether the liquid is inflammable or poisonous when the liquid is put into bottles other than those supplied by the manufacturers; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

The provisions of the Pharmacy and Poisons Act, 1933, and the Poisons Rules require the container of any poison which is sold retail, otherwise than on prescription, to be labelled with the word "Poison" or other prescribed indication of character. My right hon. Friend is instituting inquiries about the labelling of decanted inflammable liquids and will write to my hon. Friend.
