Mr. Ted Fletcher

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if, in view of the fact that the deliveries of hand-knitting wool have fallen by one-fifth since the imposition of purchase tax in the last Budget and the effect that this has had on employment prospects and short-time working in Darlington, he will consider the representations that have been made to him to end purchase tax on hand-knitted wools.
