asked the Minister of Technology what is the average age of the members of the Metrication Board; what are the ages of the youngest and the oldest members, respectively; and what provision exists for the removal of members from the board on the grounds of age or incapacity.

The average age of the present 14 members of the board, including the chairman, is approximately 57, the youngest being 45 and the oldest 64.

The chairman and deputy chairman have been appointed for a period of three years, and other members for two years. The director, who is also a member, was appointed for a period of five years.
