asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will estimate how many nurse-hours per week on average were available at Orpington Hospital as at the end of 1962 and 1969, respectively, after making allowance for holidays and training; and how many beds were occupied at the hospital at each of those dates.

The total numbers of nurse hours per week available at Orpington Hospital at the end of September in 1962 and 1969, respectively, were 11,874 and 12,601, after making allowance for holidays and training. The average number of occupied beds at this hospital was 445 in 1962 and 438 in 1969.
