§ 77. Mr. Juddasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he has considered the report entitled, "Youth Exchanges: The Way Ahead", made by the Political and Economic Planning Society, a copy of which has been sent to him; and whether he will make a statement on the Government's policy towards European exchange visits for young people.
§ Mr. LuardHer Majesty's Government attach importance to youth exchanges with Western European countries and they would hope in 1970–71, subject to Parliamentary approval, to provide some increase in central Government funds for this purpose, though not on the scale suggested in this survey. Estimated expenditure from public funds on exchanges of young people with other countries already exceeds £2 million annually.
