asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many aircraft movements there were in and out of Northolt during 1969; and for what purposes it is now used.

There were 13,361 aircraft movements* at R.A.F. Northolt during 1969. The airfield is used for communication flying by the R.A.F. and the U.S.A.F.; and for transit movements by military aircraft belonging to the United States and other nations. A limited amount of civil flying use is permitted with the prior permission of the commanding officer.

* A movement denotes a take-off or a landing.
