asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what amounts of capital and interest, respectively, are due to be paid on each currently outstanding loan to the United Kingdom Government, including those from the International Monetary Fund, in each of the years 1970 to 1975, inclusive, and thereafter.

The amount to be paid in charges depends on the date of repayment and purchases of sterling from the Fund by other countries. The amounts due cannot therefore be calculated precisely in advance. The method of calculating these charges is explained in "International Financial Statistics", a copy of which is available in the House of Commons Library.
