HC Deb 03 March 1970 vol 797 c73W
Commander Pursey

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government why his Department has not approved the demolition of No. 7 Warehouse, Hull, in view of the fact that its dangerous condition is causing the prohibition of through traffic from East to West Hull and congestion in the city centre, the city engineer's report that, under the Public Health Act, 1966, it should be either made safe or demolished, and the British Transport Docks Board's application for demolition.

Mr. Skeffington

Works for the demolition of this building, which is statutorily listed as a building of special architectural interest, will require consent under Part V of the Town and Country Planning Act, 1968. Application for consent was made to the local planning authority and refused by them on 18th December, 1969. No Appeal against their decision has yet been made to my right hon. Friend.
