HC Deb 02 March 1970 vol 797 c11W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he is aware of the concern arising from the Government's agreement to develop the gas centrifuge process in association with Holland and West Germany; and with which other countries it is intended to collaborate in the enrichment of uranium by this process.

Mr. Luard

We and our two partners have written stringent security and safeguarding arrangements into the Centrifuge Agreement. These should allay any concern on this point which may have arisen.

Discussions on possible extension of the collaboration are taking place with Italy and Belgium, the two countries which have formally expressed an interest in joining the project.
