§ 45. Mr. Awdryasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he intends to take to ensure payment of pensions to indigenous former civil servants in South Yemen whose pensions are not being paid either by the South Yemen Government or by the British Government.
§ Mr. LuardHer Majesty's Government consider that responsibility for the payment of these pensions rests with the Southern Yemen Government. We have, on various occasions, urged that Government to discharge their responsibility in full. I share the hon Member's concern about this problem, which, as he knows, is under review.
