HC Deb 02 March 1970 vol 797 c44W
Mr. Dempsey

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has in mind for the reorganisation of secondary education on comprehensive lines, for pupils attending non-transferred schools in Coatbridge; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ross

Lanarkshire Education Authority's long-term proposals, which I approved in principle in July, 1967, provide for two all-through comprehensive schools in Coatbridge—Coatbridge High School and Rosehall Secondary School. The implementation of these proposals by the authority will depend on the rate at which school building investment can be made available and on its other commitments.
