asked the Minister of Transport (1) what is the number of stations on Underground railway stations where public telephones are available on the platforms, and the proportion this represents of the total number of stations; and if he will make a statement;

(2) how many platforms at railway stations served by inter-city services contain public telephones; and what proportion this is of the total number of platforms at these stations.

Provision of public telephones at railway stations is a matter for the railway undertakings and the Post Office, but I understand that in any case this information is not readily available.
