HC Deb 24 July 1970 vol 804 c298W
Mr. Michael McNair-Wilson

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, during the consultations with the Spanish authorities following the recent air disaster, the airport standards and navigational aids at Gerona Airport were discussed, in view of representations made to him by airline pilots.

Mr. Corfield

No. The Accident Investigation Branch of the Board of Trade is assisting the Spanish Authorities with their investigation of the Comet air disaster which occurred near Barcelona. The airport standards and nagivational aids at Gerona Airport have so far not been discussed since on the basis of the evidence at present available there is nothing to indicate that the facilities at Gerona have any connection with the Barcelona accident.
