HC Deb 24 July 1970 vol 804 cc277-8W
Mr. Eadie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what increases in the costs of the South of Scotland Electricity Board will be caused by the recent rises in fuel prices; and what will be the increase in cost per unit sent out by the stations involved.

The increased costs of coal due to the rise in price in January, 1970, are likely to add about £3 million to the Board's overall costs during the year 1970–71. There will be no effect in that year on the Board's fuel oil costs arising from the scheduled price

since been negotiating with objectors. Public inquiries will be necessary before I can take decisions. The inquiry for Uddingston is arranged for November this year. A date has still to be set for Bellshill.
