HC Deb 23 July 1970 vol 804 c208W
Mr. Wingfield Digby

asked the Minister of Technology what study he has made of the effects on the environment of the discharge from oil-fired power stations; and whether he will take into account the effects on agriculture before authorising any more.

Sir J. Eden

I shall as a matter of course take into account the effect on environment in giving consent to power stations; a study of the effects on the environment of oil-fired stations which are scheduled under Alkali Act is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government whose advice is sought before consents are given.
