Mr. Rossi

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what supplementary benefit payments are made to strikers and their families to meet hire-purchase commitments.

So far as is known, none.

Mr. Rossi

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the total amount of supplementary benefit paid in each of the last six years to strikers themselves, as distinct from their dependants, on the grounds of urgent need under Section 13 of the Ministry of Social Security Act; and what was the average weekly payment so made to each striker.
