HC Deb 22 July 1970 vol 804 cc142-3W
Mr. David Clark

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is satisfied that when the M62 is opened the feeder roads, especially the A672 through Denshaw, will be adequate to take the increased heavy traffic; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

I have no reason to think that feeder roads will not be adequate. Traffic on A672 through Denshaw should be reduced when the link to M62 now being constructed between Oldham and Rochdale is completed.

Mr. David Clark

asked the Minister of Transport, when the M62 is opened between Altrincham and Outlane, what will be the estimated effect on the amount of heavy lorry traffic on the A62 through the Colne Valley between Oldham and Huddersfield initially, in five years' time, and in 10 years' time, respectively.

Mr. Michael Heseltine

I am writing to the hon. Member.
