HC Deb 22 July 1970 vol 804 c132W
70. Earl of Dalkeith

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received from Edinburgh Corporation concerning the timing and costing of schemes for the treatment of sewage; and what proportion of the cost will be provided from public funds.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

The Corporation has asked that grants should be made available generally towards capital expenditure by local authorities on sewage treatment schemes, including one for the city estimated to cost about £14 million. This would require legislation, which is not in prospect.
