HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 c87W
75. Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the President of the Board of Trade what was the percentage United Kingdom share of total South African imports from all sources in 1964 and 1969, respectively; and what information he has from international sources regarding the corresponding percentage shares of France, West Germany, Japan and the United States of America in each of those two years.

Mr. Anthony Grant

As the answer contains several figures I will, with permission, circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT. The shares of the United Kingdom and the United States fell, that of France was little changed, while that of Germany and Japan increased.

Following is the information:

Percentage shares in South African imports from all sources
1964 1969
United Kingdom 28.6 23.7
France 2.7 2.9
German Federal Republic 10.8 13.9
Japan 5.3 8.9
United States 19.1 17.6
