HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 c61W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of Public Building and Works whether he will give the Government's policy and programme regarding the efficient use of public buildings in general and Civil Service offices in particular; and to what extent it is his policy to remove Ministerial and other Civil Service offices out of London and other congested areas into development areas, where this can be done without damage to Government administration.

Mr. Amery

It is the Government's policy to seek to house the Civil Service as economically and efficiently as possible. It follows from this that it is also Government policy that work which need not be done in Central London should be dispersed.
