§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the extra cost of providing a pension of £4 for a single person and £2 2s. for an adult dependant to people covered in the National Insurance (Old Persons' and Widows' Pensions and Attendance Allowance) Bill.
§ Mr. DeanThe extra cost over that of the pensions to be provided at the rates in Clause 1 of the Bill would be about £5 million gross in the first full year, or about half that after allowing for savings on supplementary benefit.
