HC Deb 21 July 1970 vol 804 c81W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many three-bedroom council houses were sold in the last year; what was the average and total amount received from the sale; and what was the average price paid by local authorities for new three-bedroom houses in that period.

Mr. Channon

Local authorities and new towns in England and Wales sold 9,094 dwellings of all types in 1969. Separate figures for the price of three-bedroom houses are not available.

The estimated average total cost of new three-bedroom houses for which tenders were accepted by local authorities in 1969 was about £4,300.
