asked the Minister of Transport if he will give an assurance that the level of subsidies now given for the benefit of the Swansea-Llanelly-Milford Haven railway line will be maintained.

No. My predecessor's undertaking to pay grant for this service does not expire until 31st December, 1971. I shall consider any future application from the Railways Board for renewal of grant-aid on its merits.
